Dog diaries: photos and videos of Bear and Jordan.

Dog Files: Beauty, Not Brains

I haven’t posted any dog pics lately so here’s a treasure for you.  Bear and Jordan LOVE car rides.  But normally Bear lies down, hogging 85% of the backseat in my Honda.  Jordan is then stuck in the corner looking out the small window in the back.  But still, they get so excited to go. Go figure!

Normally Jordan is behind me and Bear is behind the passenger seat.  This is an important detail.  You see, my driver’s side window is messed up so I can’t put it down for her.  But this last time, somehow the two switched spots.

Car ride: BEFORE

So we’re going along and I put the passenger window down.  Jordan then makes a mind (and ear) – blowing discovery. She can stick her head kind of out the window and it feels really cool!  The sights, the smells, the wind in her golden hair…Ahhhh…bliss!

Ears Flappin'

Never mind that this is something every other dog on the planet already knows. I never said my sweet dogs were smart.

And just a side note, Bear hasn’t figured it out yet.  Shhhhh….Ignorance is its own form of bliss.  I can just see them fighting over their spot in the backseat.  Reminds me of car rides with my siblings as a child.

“Do I have to pull this car over?”

Dog Files: ‘Rooms To Go’ Must Stay

Over the years my husband and I have toyed with the idea of getting rid of our cheap Rooms To Go coffee and end tables.  They are huge and very marked up.  Yesterday I was sitting on the couch, my feet propped up on the wobbly wood of the coffee table (as is my habit–which might explain all the marks on it).

Bear came, sat beside me, and propped himself on the table, too.  It seems this piece of furniture is just too practical for our family to get rid of!

Dog Files: When I grow up I want to be a DOG!

And I’d like to be one of these lucky dogs.  What a life!

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I will say no more.

Dog Files: Dog Days of Summer

It may not officially be summer (that’s June 20th this year), but here in Texas my dogs say “It might as well be.”  Sleeping after a nice, but hot, walk at midday, these two will hibernate until the next highlight of their day: dinner time.

Bear wakes up at the sound of the camera click.  He prefers the cool tile after a warm walk.  After all, look at that fur coat!

Jordan heard the camera, but ignored me…until Daddy walked into the room.  Then she stirred.  He is, after all, her favorite person.

I don’t know what it is, but when I see her lying like this–all four legs in a triangle, I just want to grab those legs and hog-tie her!  Don’t get me wrong…I’m not a farmer, and I don’t even know how to do a hog-tie, but something about it cracks me up!

But her mommy and daddy love her very much and would, of course, never do any such thing.
